Here you can read the reviews for my novel Fabled Enigma.
from Christine Condy

Let me start by saying that for a debut novel this is brilliantly done. I read this book with my son who saw the cover and practically grabbed my tablet from my hands to start reading. This book has a bit of profanity but its at a bare minimum so it was perfect for us to read together.

The story is written from a few different points of view. First we have Elena and what happens with her, she is a psychic whose shop is about to close down due to not having received her stock. Then we have Gareth who is the "Victim" of circumstances and he is the man who is solely responsible for Elena not having her stock. Now we add in the mysterious monster/demon and boy do we have one heck of a story.

Character creation is fairly well written, you do get a feel for the characters and can put yourself easily in the role of either Gareth or Elena. At times we are in the demon's mind and that is a splendid addition to this tale because it gives us his perspective as well and shows us that he is more than just some rambling monster and has brains.

The story itself is a tale of Good vs Evil. I enjoyed how religion was added to this story to show that not only do pagans deal with the occult but also religious orders do as well. However the religion wasn't thrown at us it was explained as well which is a very good idea to link the religious orders with paganism and the occult. Adds that little bit of reality to the entire thing.

I won't go into ANY details except to say this is a fabulous and entertaining story. It isn't a scary or gory story however there are some violent scenes so read with a tween at your own discretion. For my son he happened to love the blood and carnage scenes as he calls them. The story itself is complete as stands however it leaves an opening for the next story to pick up where this one leaves off which is a brilliant idea and I know from the Author that book 2 will be out and picks up where this one leaves off but is not child friendly. Which is good to know since the first book was indeed child friendly or at least not over the top for a nearly 10 year old to handle.

It was well written and enjoyable and I do recommend this novel to anyone who likes the paranormal with a eerie feel to it. Perfect for that tween age as well. And for a first novel it was excellent.

I really enjoyed this book. The pace and scene setting were very good. It reminded me a little of Robert Rankin's work, but without his daft humour. I found the book very easy to read and difficult to put down. In fact it was infinately more readible than anything I've read by Terry Pratchett. One thing I did wonder was how much of the story was based on fact and how much on Fiction? At times it did seem quite plausable, which is a scarey thought in itself!

Overall, I thought it was a very good first outing by this obviously talented and promising author. I look forward to her next book with bated breath, but make sure you keep your crytals charged up in readiness.

To sum up - This book is a must read. Buy it, you won't regret it!

This indie e-book is really good. It is Briggs' debut novel and what a good start to her writing career. It has everything you want in a supernatural story. There is magic and psychic powers, an unbeliever who has no choice but to be converted through the events he has to live through, a quest to be completed which includes demons, battles, death, suspense and gore.

It is an easy-read which probably won't scare the pants off you but which you will enjoy.

The ending is particularly good as the book is complete in itself but leaves you with a nice opening into a sequel. You can quite easily imagine that the next book will contain a much higher level of thrill/scare factor.

How is our safe world going to change?

How are the characters going to develop their relationships with one another?

How can the protagonists keep our world safe?

I recommend this book for anyone from YA upwards and I hope that Gail writes the next book soon.

Personal read 4/5 stars, I really liked it.

I have to start by saying that I usually do not read books like this, but I really enjoyed this one. I read this book in one day, as soon as I started I could not stop. I loved the fact that it was in a three separate viewpoints, it was very easy to follow. The setting was written superbly it actually made me feel like I was right there with them. I would recommend this book, if your like me and love the non stop suspense, then this is the book for you. The ending was incredible, it has me waiting for the next installment.

SCARY! That would be my first thought about this first book by author G L Briggs. The paranormal writing is wonderfully written. My one fault with the book was the foul language. Yes I know I have a thing about bad language. But I feel that bad language and sexual graphics is not needed to write an awesome book.

But, author G L Briggs has done, for her first book an exciting, scary, far out there, on the edge of my seat book. She keep my attention and I am excited to let her know that I will be looking for more.

The characters within these pages were for this realm of stories were so intense and captivating at the same time. I don't want to give away anything within this book.

So due to this fact and as you know I believe you as readers need to be able to be engrossed within the book and read into each character/page or story line what or how you feel. This book will be a great read for this time of year.

So due to the above I am giving this book a Breath of Life Rating of:

Four Clock Rating!!!

A good story written from 2 angles.i enjoyed this story about a nn believer of the spirit/supernatural learns the hard way that it is in fact all true and can be very dangerous. Gareth the hardiness nonbeliever finds himself entangled in a mess of the supernatural kind and finds himself having to change his ways and ask for help from the very person that he has blown off only days prior. I love the way the story has finished? This book was gifted to me by the author in exchange for an honest review.

I thoroughly enjoyed my first foray into horror in many years. The main protagonists are real, likeable characters, and this book is non-stop, scary action all the way. I particularly liked looking into the demon's world, and seeing into its vicious mind. The look into the modern world of witchcraft was incredibly titillating. I want to know more!

A really enjoyable read, not drawn out, as some horrors are and not too short - the perfect length for a story. If you enjoy a hard and fast paced modern horror, I highly recommend this book. I can honestly say that I could not stop reading it until I finished it, and I definitely look forward the next book written by Gail Briggs.
